The Hyundai MnSoft R700 is a premium Korean dashboard camera which premiered in late 2012. Hyundai MnSoft is your “vehicle infotainment” firm of Hyundai Motor Group. This camera has very good image quality throughout the day and good picture quality at night. It records 1080p at 30f/s with a mean bit rate of approximately 13,000kpbs. Video segments are recorded in 1 minute segments. The camera has a G-sensor but doesn’t come with GPS. Check our official website: https://dashcambox.com
We have never been able to affirm what processor this camera is currently using but seemingly it’s utilizing the Sony Exmor IMX122LQJ CMOS sensor.
We’d like to thank our member Mtz who provided the first review with this dashboard camera, and it has made a movie review too.
Due to the large cost and related problems, this camera has not become popular as a dash camera. Hence very few problems have been reported.
Apparently the framerate is different (approximately 30fps) and audio sampling rate (roughly 8000Hz) for each clip. If you try joining the AVI sections in direct stream copy using VirtualDub or MKV Merge, the procedure won’t work. You’ll need to convert the FPS (to 30FPS) and sound sampling rate if you’d like to join with all these tools.
Should I Buy?
While the video quality is good and the small size is not too large, the over $200 cost is a bit steep for a non-GPS camera. If you’re looking for a “brand name” camera, you may want to consider the R700.
